City 17 added on Left 4 Dead servers

Posted: December 31st, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Left 4 Dead | Tags: , | Comments Off on City 17 added on Left 4 Dead servers

I just found out that City 17 has been implemented in l4d! This has to be tested of course, so City 17 custom campaign is now added. There is a direct download link on the front page as well. Today I upgraded to version 2.2, so you need to download the campaign again. No more missing textures that I could spot.

Today’s playtest received a roaring thumbs up!

Left 4 Dead servers gets a few changes

Posted: December 31st, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Left 4 Dead, Plugins, updates | Tags: | Comments Off on Left 4 Dead servers gets a few changes

The Left 4 Dead servers now are equal in the sense that all servers have the same sourcemod plugins and they all accept all game modes from the lobby.

The Gore mod has been put to rest – the splatter really took a bit too much space and performance.

Silent Fear and Suicide Blitz added to Left 4 Dead servers

Posted: December 30th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Left 4 Dead, updates | Tags: | Comments Off on Silent Fear and Suicide Blitz added to Left 4 Dead servers

I added these two campaigns from l4dmaps.com yesterday.

Silent Fear is a single map with a new playmode – very unique and nicely done.

Suicide Blitz is a five-map custom campaign.

Left 4 Dead 2 now supports l4d custom content

Posted: December 25th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Left 4 Dead 2 | Tags: , | Comments Off on Left 4 Dead 2 now supports l4d custom content

I tried adding Death Aboard V7 to the Left 4 Dead 2 servers yesterday. It played decently with only a few missing textures. One downside is that noclip can occur on several objects in-game for example doors..

Hopefully map creators will re-compile their maps with the Left 4 Dead 2 authoring tools so we can enjoy the campaigns with melee weapons and working objects in-game.

Ho ho ho, l4d2 authoring tools released

Posted: December 24th, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Left 4 Dead 2, Tech stuff, updates | Tags: | Comments Off on Ho ho ho, l4d2 authoring tools released

Left 4 Dead 2 Add-on support and Left 4 Dead 2 Authoring tools can now be found in your tools tab in Steam.

Hopefully this will lead to some custom campaigns being released soon. Dead before Dawn is a personal favorite that I would love to see in l4d2.

Read all about it here.

Bots are coming for christmas..

Posted: December 22nd, 2009 | Author: | Filed under: Team Fortress 2, Tech stuff | Tags: , | 1 Comment »

The missing items are coming soon. All of us missing out on the new items when getting the milestones are of course looking forward to trying the new guns.

Valve have worked on bot AI in TF2, and have support for bots in three koth maps: koth_viaduct, koth_sawmill, and koth_nucleus.

The magical console command is..

tf_bot_add [count] [class] [team]

The three arguments are optional. Count is a number (duh), class are the Valve name for the class (eg pyro) and team is either red or blue.
